Habitat for Humanity has always interested me because the motto "a hand up, not a hand out" speaks to me. I am so impressed that Habitat allows the potential homeowner to contribute in making their lives better. Having a safe, habitable home for your family allows a person to have pride in them themselves and can only help the community as a whole. Everyone needs a "helping hand" from time to time and Habitat really means "Hands On " for everyone involved homeowners, family and volunteers.
Habitat for Humanity serves people within my community and throughout the world, being a part of such a powerful organization has been a life changing experience. Through Habitat I’ve gotten to make an impact on my school and build new friendships.
Habitat is great! My students have grown so much serving Jonesboro.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Jonesboro was by far one of the most memorable and special experiences of my time as a graduate student. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to work with amazing people who desire to give back as well as those who are receiving the benefit and are so grateful. Habitat will always hold a special place in my heart!
Habitat for Humanity has given me the opportunity to show God's love to people by serving them. And I've had so much fun helping to build houses and meet new people.
Serving with Habitat for Humanity of Jonesboro has truly been an honor. I have been given the opportunity to serve my fellow community members with people of all ages and backgrounds, and this has fostered a sense of brotherhood and friendship that I will never forget. I am extremely proud of what this relatively small but dedicated group of activists has been able to do for our community.
I want to thank Habitat for giving me and my family the opportunity to own our own home. My dream has always been to have a safe place for my children to lay their heads at night and now I can thank God they have that. Habitat opens doors for folks that normally cannot afford to buy a house under regular financial terms and that person is me. I thank God for the day I applied for a Habitat house. It was the start of a whole new life for my family. The board of directors was so helpful to me as well when I had issues happen along the way. We turned obstacles into possibilities. The support they offered was overwhelming.
